SAFF Women’s Club Championship 2025, Schedule, Squad list. Winners will receive US$10,000 and the runners-up $5000. East Bengal, Karachi aim for regional glory




The first SAFF Women’s Championship takes place in Kathmandu from December 5-20. Played in a league system before the top two face off on December 20 in the Grand Final. A exciting time for SAFF Women’s football and a very interesting tournament ahead as clubs invested to strengthen their teams for the tournament.


The winners will receive US$10,000 and the runners-up $5000.

Karachi City signed up several stars to represent them in the tournament including Pakistan captain Maria Khan, Jordan legend Maysa Jbarah, New Zealand international Eve Barry and Tunisian star Samia Ouni.

Dominant champions in Pakistan in 2024 with a record of 114 goals in 7 games defeating Legacy 4-0 in the final.

They enter the tournament determined to make Pakistan proud it will be interesting to see if so many players can gel quickly and be a force in the tournament.

Karachi City defeated Karachi United  by 2-0 goals to lift the winning trophy of the KPT Women’s Day Football Championship on 7th August 2025.


Transport of United came third in the 2025 Bhutan National Women’s Championship losing out on the title to RTC 48pts, Paro FC 48pts finishing in third spot with 42pts.

Scoring 122 goals in the winning 13 games, drawing 3, and losing only 2 conceding just 9.

Transport United drafted in Indian duo Anjana and Jeewanti.

Most recent line up in the season finale against RTC on October 8.


Nasrin Sports Academy arrive at SAFF as the reigning champions of Bangladesh.

However they have stars missing Sabina, Masura, Krishna in national team camp. Alpi Akter of the U-17 and U-20 national teams will play for Nasrin Academy. Therefore, another senior footballer, Sanjida Akhtar, who is outside the national team camp, has been given the captaincy of Nasrin.

East Bengal the champions of India and likely tournament favourites recently edged out of the AFC Women’s Champions League Quarter Final on goal differencial but gained valuable experience and team spirit so soon to the tournament.

14 matches, 12 wins and Only 1 loss the entire season lead by Fazila Ikwaput (Uganda) who struck 24 goals in the league with valuable input from fellow country women Resty Nanziri, Aminah Nababi and Amnah Nababi. Ghana’s Abena Anoma Opoku also adds pace in defence.

Sweety Devi Ngangbam captains the side other notable players include  Panthoi Chanu

APF FC Women arrive at SAFF as Nepal’s dominant force, four straight league titles, and a unbeaten league season.

Puja Rana Magar previously linked with Bangladesh’s Nasrin Sports Academy  decided to stay in Nepal and will represent APF FC in the tournament.

Meena Deuba, one of Nepal’s most dynamic forwards, joins APF FC from Nepal Police Club.

Bimala BK, formerly from Tribhuvan Army, strengthens APF’s defensive unit.

Geeta Rana, though currently on rest for the competition, has been included in the final squad, highlighting her leadership value within the team.

In a round where defense mostly dominated Robo Queens lead by a brace from Kemi Adegbuyi thrashed Confluence 4-0. Rivers opened their campaign defeating Naija 1-0 Sharon Onwere striking in the 55th minute. Aisha Animashaun 25th minute effort earned the points for Remo Stars against Abia Angels. Edo Queens bounced back from a opening round loss to defeat Heartland 1-0 Atume Doosuur striking the winner. Nosifat Tijana hit a 87th minute winner for Osun Babes to defeat Ahudiyannem 1-0. Ekki and Adamawa played out a 1-1 draw as a unfortunate own goal by Favor Godwin in stoppage time earned the host a draw.


Afia Twumwaa 68 minute goal kept Army 100% at the top of the South Section overcoming Oak 1-0. Jónína edged Ladystrikers 1-0 moving onto 10pts with Agnes Azasi scoring the winner.

Ampem remain top in the North section easing to a 3-1 win over Kumasi. Northern City 3-0 win over Northern Ladies left the latter stranded at the bottom of the table.


ASEC resumed league action in style firstly defeating Sekala 5-1 then today in a rescheduled match hit 7 past Co Boni Achy with Ouedraogo Habibou firing doubles in both encounters. ASEC move to within 3pts of leaders Athletico D’Abijan who were out of league action as they played a friendly match against the WNT with Côte D’ivoire winning 3-1.


Only one game in Zambia in the international break saw Nkwazi beat Trident Queens 1-0.


Bottom placed Durban enjoyed a 1-0 win over TUT as the season winds down in South Africa.


FC Kallon beat Rising Queens 2-1 to remain top on goal differencial in Sierra Leone. Aminata Conteh and Abdul Waheed Wasila struck the goals.

Goals from Nadie Quadi 2 46, Fatmata Turay 17 and Saio Quraishi 69 lead Mogbewmo to a 4-0 success against Vem Buck.

Agness Phiri’s hattrick lead the Green Buffaloes charge as they give league newcomers Amazing Grace a lesson storming to a 7-1 victory to open a 7pt advantage at the top of the table. Mary Mambwe’s 90th minute equaliser thwarted Zesco Ndola as Red Arrows held them to a 1-1 draw. Indeni join Zesco on 28pts as they hit 6 past ZISD. Rachael Moono was on target as Green Eagles also move to 28pts defeating Yasa 1-0.


Comfort Yeboah struck a brace as USFA remained the only team with a 100% start to the season after three rounds.

A enthralling CAF Women’s Champions League saw ASFAR crowned champions for the second time as Zineb Redouani held her nerve to strike a 85th minute penalty to give the Morrocan champions a 2-1 win over ASEC. Hanane Ait El Haj penalty in the 13th minute opened the scoring as ASFAR controlled much of the opening half. ASEC played themselves back into the game and deservedly equalised through the excellent Ami Diallo in the 55th minute.

Despite a opening match loss to ASEC in which they had some issues with injuries limiting players available they turned things around quickly against Gabarone and a clinical 4-1 display to defeat JKT Queens and clinch their Semi Final spot.

The spine of the team mostly remains over the years and the veterans scored the goals to ensure they became the only team to advance to the Semi Final in all five editions. Group B winners with emphatic performances lead by last domestic league season leading scorer Ouedraogo Habibou and Ami Diallo who continue exceptional form leading ASEC to the Semi Final, being very dangerous on the break in open attack the duo form a huge danger to FC Masar who themselves in their own domestic championship have been suspect to pace in defence and will need to be tactically aware throughout to maintain their ambitions.

FC Masar advanced to the Semi Final with a last gasp stoppage time goal to eliminate USFAS a game which showed their frailties to stronger opponents of pace but also their determination to keep fighting to the final whistle. The third place match winners last year maintains their ambition to go a step further will be looking for Hasnath Ubamba retaining her excellent form with dangerous runs adding to the potential goal threat for the Egyptian champions along with Alice Ogebe and the probing passes of Amira. Another strategic battle is in store.

JS Kabylie won the Super Cup Champions in Algeria  courtesy of a Nadia Iouannoughen strike in the 79th minute. The win added to their Algerian Women’s Cup succes over Akbou earlier in the year.   Both return to league action tomorrow.


Kawempe Muslim remain top in Uganda as they defeated Amus College 2-1, Kampala remain close 2pts adrift with a 2-0 success over Uganda Martyrs with in form Catherine Nagadya striking a decisive double. She Corporate were held to a goalless draw, while St Noa impressive start sees them move to mid table as they beat Olila 2-0.


MDF Lioness stunned leaders Silver Strikers ending their 100 percent record as Catherine Kachala struck a 82nd minute winner in a 2-1 comeback victory. Ascent Academy cut the lead to four points easing to a 3-0 win at Topik.


Police Bullets extend their advantage at the top of the table to 4 points with a dominant 4-0 win over Bungoma. Trinity move into second place as they beat Ulinzi 1-0 Eglay Mukhwana striking the winner. Vihiga Queens had to settle for a goalless draw.


Ajegipina Zakaria struck a brace to assist Ampem to a 3-0 win over Northern Ladies to top the North Section on goal differencial. Prison Ladies where held to a 1-1 draw by Kumasi while Savannah edged Tamale 1-0 with Yakubu Sakina striking the winner, all have 7pts.

Army remain the only outfit to win all three opening games as Adama Alhassan struck a 90+5 minute winner. Jónína and Epiphany played out a goalless draw, as Jane Ayieyam 9th minute effort earned Police a 1-0 win over Soccer Intellectuals.


Mamelodi Sundowns moved to within a win of retaining the Hollywoodbets WSL as Refilwe Tholakele struck a 76th minute winner to edge Copperbelt.  They can clinch the title Wednesday with a win over City Lads.

JVW moved into second position with a 2-0 win over City Lads, Bonola Makoma and Julia Gonçalves scoring the goals.


Indeni Roses halted defending champions Zesco Ndola charge as Rhoda Chileshe struck a brace in a 2-1 win.  Green Buffaloes took full advantage and extended their lead to 5pts with Maylan Mulenga leading the way with a double as they cruised to a 5-0 win over Elite Ladies. Red Arrows were in fine form easing to a 4-1 win at Luyando.


Police WFC maintained their perfect start to the season defeating Bugesera 2-1 to remain top of the table after five rounds. Indahangarwa faltered to a 0-0 draw with Kanyomi. Rayon bounced back from a defeat to beat Macuba 3-0.

Reigning champions Ram Kamara commenced the new campaign with a 3-0 succes against Vem Buck with goals from Sallamatu Kamara in the 4th and 32nd minute with  Fatoumata Yaya Samoura adding the third in the 75th minute. Mogbewmo Queens aiming to regain the title lost last season opened with a 3-1 win over Rising Queens.


Goals from Ramina Salmi and Adama Sané lead WAC to a nineth consecutive victory to open the season moving to 27pts with a 2-0 success defeating ARAFF.   FUS move into second place edging HST courtesy of a Salimata Diarra strike.


The top two in Lesotho extended the gap as leaders LDF Ladies beat Stoko 2-1, while reigning champions Kick 4 Life beat Bokamoso 3-0. It was shared points all round in the remainder of the league clashes.


Mary Averu 2′ Kouanda Salamata 36′ Goungounga Elodie 90′ where the scorers as champions USFA beat Tigresse 3-1 in the second round of the Burkina Faso D1 Feminine to make it two wins out of two to start the defense of their title.  Lionnes lead the way on goal differencial after edging Esiz 1-0.


Group A leader OTR suffered a 3-0 defeat to Barracuda as Entente defeated Ahe 2-0 to make a three way second place points tie.

Runaway leaders in Group B ASKO thrashed Unisport 5-1.

Finalíssima Femenina 2026 Brasil push to host the final



The Coordinator of Women’s National Teams Cris Gambare revealed in a press conference yesterday of talks to hold the Finalíssima Femenina between Brasil and England in Brasil next March 2026.

She stated that, in conversations with the English team, she demonstrated the importance and capacity of the match being played in Brazil, host of the next World Cup.

Conmebol and UEFA will have to decide that. Normally it’s UEFA that decides, because the contract stipulates that decision,  unfortunately it’s not up to us to decide. But there has already been this possibility of bringing the final here, to Brasil, but they are the ones who really define and decide, according to the contract for this championship — declared Gambaré.

The two met in a recent friendly in Manchester with Brasil running out 2-1 winners.

Brasil end 2025 with two friendly international matches against Norway on November 28 and Portugal December 2


England will play China at Wembley on November 29 and Ghana in Southampton on December 2nd

Herentals Queens retained the title in Zimbabwe after defeating Cranbone Royals 2-0 with goals from  Natasha Benza and Praynence Zvawanda.

The 5th edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League commences Saturday in Egypt with host team FC Masar facing UNAF rival ASFAR in a exciting official opening match encounter with the two playing tense encounters on previous occasions it is a match to shape the tournament. 15 do Augusto face WAFU A champions USFAS Bamako from Mali in the other opening day encounter.



Group A

FC Masar enter the tournament with a resounding 6-0 win against Al Masry and with confidence of improving on last years third place finish.   Retaining a impressive squad Mahira Ali, Alice Ogebe, Farah Elmahdy, Hasnath Ubamba form crucial roles in a well drilled squad. Currently sitting in third place with 5 wins from 5 in their domestic championship with a game in hand 3pts behind leaders Wadi Degla and a goal differencial of 23-3.


However they will face a determined ASFAR in the group who reinforced with the likes of Anissa Lahmari joining the 2024 runners up. A squad laced with Morocco national team members Sanaa Mssoudy, the impressive Doha El Madani, Safa Banouk danger lurks through the ranks.   With a place in the Fifa Women’s Champions Cup at stake for the eventual 2025 champions,  despite a weekend draw with ARAFF in their domestic championship the perennial Moroccan champions come focused and determined to take their second CAF Women’s Champions League title.



Uniffac champions 15 de Agosto added to their qualifying tournament squad in the CAF Women’s Champions League, with four Cameroonian players have joined the Guinean club. These include Flora Kameni, Beulou Ornella, Nsi Mbarga, and Mogai Djapa, who have been recruited to strengthen the team to join the likes of Jessy Ornella and Ana Maria Nchama whose brace against Ebolowa sealed their spot in the 2025 edition.


USFAS the underdog of the group come in the tournament having played warm up matches against the Women’s national team prior to the WAFCON 2026 Qualifying second round. They will look to Ma Traoré, Safiatou Keïta, Oumou Koné to provide ammunition in a tough group.


Group B

Holders TP Mazembe enter the tournament with a mainly fresh squad, 8  players of last year’s title winning team departed that participated in their 2025 domestic championship in which they dominated the regular season with a GD of +71 in seven games,  before a odd ending which saw them only take 7 players to face M’sichana in the Semi Final. Recently three key players Esther Dikisha, Lydia Mohlakoana, and Elena Obono rejoined the club.  After nearly a month’s absence for the South African and Equatorial Guinean players, and more than five months for Dikisha (who was on loan at M’sichana), all three have traveled to Egypt.  Natacha Nkonda, a 23-year-old Cameroonian defensive midfielder from Al-Hammah SC (Saudi Arabia) signed a one-year contract to bolster their midfield. They enter after a lengthy period of preparation. Coach Lamia Boumehdi recently stated to CAF media “Preparation has gone well overall. The group has responded positively to the technical staff’s demands. We’ve focused on physical conditioning, team cohesion and tactical work because we know the competition level will be very high.”

ASEC Mimosas current Côte D’ivoire and WAFU B champions enter the tournament 2nd in their domestic championship though they do have a game in hand. In their last outing Ami Diallo scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with title challenger Atletico D’Abijan,  Diallo along with Ouedraogo Habibou pose a potent attacking threat.  Showing solid defending and tactical awareness in qualifying they have potential to pose a threat in the tournament.



Gabarone United the Cosafa Women’s Champions emerging as  the surprise of the Qualifying process defeating Zambia championsh Zesco on penalties in the final. Ladened with numerous Botswana international players they enter the tournament having prepared in South Africa with two games.   A thrilling contest in Soweto as they edged the University of Johannesburg in their opening game of the Preparatory Series. with goals from Dithebe, Bonang & Gaofetoge. In the second preparation match on October 24 they faced  Mamelodi in a  1-1 draw where Jessica Yaone Modise scored the goal. 


JKT Queens the Tanzanian champions and Cecafa Qualifying winners enter the tournament on the back of winning the Tanzanian Women’s Community Shield defeating Simba Queens 2-1 In the final after a 1-1 (6-5 penalties) Semi Final win over Yanga.  A team that has been together for a numerous seasons now, however they still have lapses in defense a highlight that will need to be contained in order to progress far.  Highlighted by the great talent of 17 years old Winifrida Gerald, alongside the likes of Donisia Minja, Stumai Abdallah the three have formed formidable trio in the domestic championship over the past 3 years.
