Paraguay gained their first victory of the competition with a 83rd minute winner from Zunida Coronel, Bolívia put in a brave performance fighting back from a early 0-2 defecit courtesy of a brace from Yuditza Salvatierra.

Brasil became the first team to advance to the second phase defeating Ecuador 4-0. Giovaninha scored a quickfire brace on 14 and 18 minutes the first firing home Analuyza’s perfect cross from close range, and minutes later running onto a beautiful pass from Yaya to lob the ball over the advancing keeper. Bruninha provided a low cross for Fernandes on 28 minutes to extend Brasil’s lead to 3-0.
Early in the second half Brasil put the game to bed Analuyza pouncing on a rebound in the 54th minute from just outside the 6 yard box showing her strikers instincts.
Ecuador will meet Uruguay in the final group game needing to win as Uruguay hold the advantage in goal difference.

Opening day action saw host Chile play out a goalless draw with Argentina before Venezuela overcame Peru 2-0 courtesy of a Kimberlyn Campos double strike. Campos opened the scoring on 47 minutes as Venezuela where awarded a penalty it took to added time when she rounded off a fine Venezuela move to seal the victory.

Tarciane struck two quickfire goals midway through the second half to break the resistance of Uruguay., the first a penalty on 63 minutes followed by a header from a corner using all her 1m 87 heighr to tower over the defence and head home.
Nahely Bolaños struck four goals as Ecuador dismissed Bolivia 5-1 in the second game of the day. Bolivia gave brief resistance early in the match when Ingrid Gusman equalised a early Emily Arias opener.

Host Chile record their first victory of the tournament defeating Peru 3-0. Mary Valencia opened the scoring on 3 minutes before Sonya Navarro doubled the lead on the stroke of half time scrambling home a second effort from close range. Michelle Ovares rounded off a excellent move firing into the bottom right hand corner to seal the victory on 57 minutes.

Earlier Argentina and Colombia cancelled each other out in a goalless draw, it was Argentina second 0-0 draw of the tournament as Colombia were playing its first match.

A hard fought duel between Colombia and Venezuela saw the two teams settle for a point apiece. Kimberlyn Campos had the opportunity to open the scoring in the first period but saw her penalty saved. Colombia starlet Gisela Robledo pounced in the 52nd minute to open the scoring racing onto a through ball and drilling home. Venezuela equalised in the 65th minute when the great talent Campos pounced from close range. Neither team could manage a winner in a hotly contested group that will go to the wire.

Argentina overcame Peru in the second game of the evening, it took until the 31st minute to open the scoring when Argentina was awarded a penalty. Dalila Ippolito made no mistake ending 211 minutes without a goal in the tournament for Argentina. Ippolito doubled the advantage a minute later as Argentina caught fire, Paulina Gramaglia scored the third goal in four minutes to open a 3-0 advantage. To Peru’s credit they did not collapse and doggedly held out for the remainder of the game as no further scoring could be made.

Ecuador produced a excellent performance lead by very talented Nayeli Bolaños to defeat Paraguay 3-1, Bolaños fired home on 37 minutes giving Ecuador a well deserved lead. Fatima Acosta levelled the game in the 70th minute but Ecuador responded with a excellent goal from Emily Arias in the 83rd minute before Danna Pesantez sealed the victory in the 88th minute.

Uruguay blitzed Bolívia with 13 unanswered goals as the dynamic duo of Belen Aquino and Wendy Carballo acquiring 9 of them. Aquino fired in a double hattrick as Uruguay overpowered a tired looking Bolivia who entered the game on the back of a 0-10 defeat to Brasil. Carballo herself completed her own hattrick, Juliana Vieira scored a brace, Josefina Felix and Catalina Emanuele rounded off the scoring.

In a Action packed weekend around the world of Women’s Football numerous teams took big steps of their fate in their respective championships.

On Saturday ASFAR clinched the title in Morocco as they defeated AUSFAZ 6-1 and claim their spot in the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Wolfsburg blew Bayern away in the eagerly anticipated top of the table clash in Germany. Svenja Huth set the tone with a fantastic strike from outside the box into the top corner in the 8th minute as they strode to a 6-0 victory. Maria-Joelle Wedemeyer quickly doubled Wolfsburgs advantage on 13 minutes paving the way for a comfortable victory. Tabea Waßmuth struck on 39 minutes to give the home team a 3-0 half time advantage. It took to the 77th minute before Alex Popp extended the lead before late goals from Lena Oberdorf (82) and Ewa Pajor (90+2) compounded a miserable week for Bayern. With the victory Wolfsburg move four points clear at the top of the table with 50pts as three games remain.

Potsdam defeated Köln 2-0 to stay in third position as Hoffenheim and Eintracht kept up the pressure in the hunt for Germanys third champions league spot.

In England it was high fives for the top two as Chelsea and Arsenal each recorded 5-0 victories. Arsenal defeating Leicester while Chelsea disposed of Reading. Manchester United remain in third through Lea Galton’s 68th minute goal. Manchester City kept up the pressure in fourth with a 2-0 away win at West Ham. Liverpool clinched the second tier championship title as they defeated Bristol City 4-2 to return to the super league in the 2022-23 season.

Paris FC thwarted PSG in a goalless match at Stade Charlety, as Lyon took advantage recording a 2-0 victory at Guingamp through goals from Catarina Macario and Ada Hegerberg to move five points clear at the top of D1 Arkema in France.

Real Madrid suffered a 3-1 defeat at Sporting Huelva as Anita struck a first half hatrick to cancel Claudia Zornoza’s fifth minute penalty, however Atletico could only manage a 1-1 draw at Real Betis as UDG came back to defeat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 with Mari Jose striking the winner in the 57th minute. Atlético remain third on 50 points tied with Tenerife with Real Madrid in fifth spot on 47 points though they hold a game in hand. Champions Barcelona overturned a 0-1 half time defecit scoring six goals without reply in the second half.

Juventus and Roma each recorded comfortable victories in Italy to stay in the top two positions, and close in on clinching champions league spots for the 2022-23 season, as Lazio give themselves a lifeline at the bottom of the table defeating Napoli, they move to within four points of the Naples club with a game in hand.

In Brasil Corinthians where held at home by São Paulo, the visitors took the lead after a corner was inadvertently directed into her own net by Yasmim in the 14th minute, it took to the 82nd minute before a delightful finish by Gabi Portilho who was called into the Brasil squad to visit Spain earlier in the week, to equalise and give the host a share of the spoils. Ferroviaria lead the table with a dominant 6-1 victory at Sao José, Palmeiras remain second after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Flamengo. Esmac earned a dramatic point at Cresspom as Karla struck with two late goals to earn a 2-2 draw.

INAC Kobe took a big step towards clinching the WE League title defeating second place NTV 3-1.

Rayadas romped to a 5-0 victory over Pachuca to remain three points clear of Tigres in Liga Mx Femenil, Tigres claimed a 1-0 victory at Pumas courtesy of Ovalle’s goal on the stroke of Half Time. Alicia Cervantes ninth minute strike gave third place Chivas a 1-0 win at Mazatlan.

Kenya’s Women’s Premier league resumed at the weekend with leaders Vihiga Queens overcoming Nakuru City courtesy of Agnes Olesi’s 4th minute strike. Vihiga remain 9pts clear on 34pts ahead of Ulinzi who moved into second position with a 7-0 victory over Kangemi.

In Turkey Besiktas and Alg Spor recorded victories to remain at the top of their respective groups, however the headlines were grabbed by a brawl at the end of the game between Amed and Fenerbache’s group B match. A fiercely contested game that saw Kennya Cordner score the winning goal in the tenth minute of additional time to give the visitors a 2-1 victory, much to the wrath of the Amed team who charged at the visitors bench on the final whistle.

A 57th minute goal from Lizzy Arnot give Rangers a crucial 1-0 victory at Motherwell in the only match of the SWPL this weekend. The victory moved the Glasgow side five points clear of second placed Glasgow City. In Wales the championship remained on ice for Swansea City who where held to a 1-1 draw by Aberystwyth Town.

Other action in Scotland saw the Scottish Cup Quarter Finals. Glasgow City scored 8 unanswered second half goals to defeat a dogged Stirling outfit. Partick Thistle defeated Hibs 4-2, Hearts eliminating Kilmarnock 2-1 and in Sundays tie Celtic won 2-0 at Aberdeen via goals from Shen Mengyu and Jodie Bartle.

America de Cali stormed to a 4-0 victory over rivals Deportivo courtesy of a own goal by Lizeth Ocampo, Tatiana Castenada and a late double from Catalina Usme to put the icing on the cake. America moved three points clear over Deportivo at the top of the Standings in Liga Dimayor with 25 points, and Santa Fe in third who recorded a 3-0 victory over Deportivo Tolima.

ASFAR retain the title in Morocco

ASFAR clinched the championship with three matches remaining after defeating AUSFAZ 6-1 in Round 23 of the championship. Douha Ahmamou scored a brace on 5 and 55 minutes. Naima Fadil fired home on 27 minutes, Sanaa Mssoudy netted twice on 45 and 52 minutes, Najat Badri completed the scoring in the 79th minute.

ASFAR qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League UNAF Qualifying along with Affak Relizane who retained the Algerian Women’s Championship on Friday. Other participants in this region are still to be determined.
