CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying schedule, Guinea withdraw, Congo-Brazzaville against Morocco in severe jeopardy.

Reports from France and Morocco appear to suggest Eric Blahic is set to take the reigns from Jorge Vilda.
Blahic was France WNT assistant coach on two separate occasions firstly he joined Corinne Diacre’s staff in January 2020 as her number two assistant.
However he stepped down in the summer of 2021 after a breakdown in relations, later citing Diacre’s desire for excessive control and a reprimand over private player conversations.
He rejoined the FFF/France women’s setup briefly under Hervé Renard (2023-2024).
He last worked as assistant coach at FC Nantes (December 2025 to July 2026) alongside Ahmed Kantari and Vahid Halilhodžić.
It is reported from the beginning of the Morocco Women’s National Team camp that Vilda was absent from the start of the preparation for the Women’s Olympic Qualifying that was due against Congo. However that tie appears to be in severe jeopardy as colleagues note that this game has been removed from the Fifa match list.

With Guinea and apparent Congo withdrawal 14 ties are set to take place.
Commencing on October 7 as Rwanda take on Ethiopia at 18:00 local.
Notable other ties including RD Congo v Côte D’ivoire with the winner to take on WAFCON 2026 champions Cameroun.
Nigeria will host Comoros twice with the winner to take on Morocco.
Uganda face Zambia both with new coaches as Firew Asef Hailegebreal was announced as head coach of Uganda’s national women’s football, while Nora Hauptle stepped down from her role with Charles Haalubono placed as interim head coach. The winner faces Mauritius or Ghana in the third round next February / March break.
