The Fifa Women’s Champions Cup Final 4 comes to London at the end of January. A inaugural tournament for the global women’s game. What can we expect is difficult to predict as there is no time with different international seasons teams are in the same time of the season.  Gotham and Corinthians started pre season, Arsenal on a small winter break in the FAWSL and ASFAR have been completing a handful of rescheduled games in their domestic championship.

However for the global stage it is a exciting prospect for fans, with many stars on display looking to be crowned Fifa Women’s Champions.

Domestically Corinthians won a 6th successive Brasilerão Femenino title defeating Cruzeiro in the final. However they fell to a heavy defeat to Palmeiras in the Paulistao Femenina 2025 title losing 5-2 on aggregate.

Rhaizza from Bahia, Paola Garcia a experienced midfielder comes from Deportivo Cali and Uruguay star Belén Aquino reinforce Corinthians with rumours Argentina international Agustina and former starlet Brasilian international Ana Vitória in the pipeline to join the team.

With both teams in the off season preparing for long 2026 seasons the pace of the game and team sync maybe rusty however both have highly talented squads and for the fans in the stadiums and watching at home a exciting duel in prospect.

Arsenal v ASFAR

Arsenal qualified by defeating Barcelona 1-0 in the 2024-25 UWCL Final seen by many as a upset but gritty team display and a Stina Blackstenius 74th minute effort.

Arsenal finished runners up in the 2024-25 Barclays Women’s Super League and currently hold third position at the midway stage of the current season which resumes January 10th when Arsenal host 4th placed Manchester United.

Smilla Holmberg is a mid season addition from Hammarby where she made  96 appearances  scoring 10 goals, winning the Swedish league title in 2023 and the Swedish Cup in 2023 and 2025 with the club.

Smilla made her senior debut for Sweden against Italy in the UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage in May 2025 and was listed  in Sweden’s squad for the UEFA European Women’s Championship in the summer of 2025.

A interesting tournament for Arsenal surrounded by many big games as they face Chelsea days before their tie with ASFAR.  Shortly after the tournament Arsenal face OH Leuven in the UWCL 2025-26 knockout round with the winner advancing to the Quarter Finals.   How they approach this game and with what line up will be interesting but with a high quality depth in the squad it will still be a major task for ASFAR

ASFAR 12 times champions of Morocco qualified to the Fifa Women’s Champions Cup by taking the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025 lifting the trophy for the second time as they defeated ASEC Mimosas of Côte D’ivoire, Zineb Redouani striking a 85th minute penalty.

ASFAR currently stand second in the LNFF D1 Feminine 2025-26 season in Morocco having defeated FUS 4-1 in the Rabat derby at the weekend.

ASFAR boast a depth of the Morocco National Women’s team squad Anissa Lahmari being a new addition this season, and qualified for the final 4 in London by defeating the reigning AFC Women’s Champions League champions Wuhan in the second qualifying round in dramatic style overturning a 0-1 defecit to win 2-1 in extra time. Hajar Said leveling the game in the 89th minute before the highly experienced and talented Sanaa Mssoudy struck the winner.

ASFAR’s recent start list for the game against FUS on January 3rd.

A tough task for ASFAR against Arsenal, however like the Women’s National Team play technical football and capable of solid defence, but suspect to direct runs and being caught on the break. They will give their all, a very proud team with alot of spirit.

ASEC v FC Masar

Group B winners with emphatic performances lead by last domestic league season leading scorer Ouedraogo Habibou and Ami Diallo who continue exceptional form leading ASEC to the Semi Final, being very dangerous on the break in open attack the duo form a huge danger to FC Masar who themselves in their own domestic championship have been suspect to pace in defence and will need to be tactically aware throughout to maintain their ambitions.

FC Masar advanced to the Semi Final with a last gasp stoppage time goal to eliminate USFAS a game which showed their frailties to stronger opponents of pace but also their determination to keep fighting to the final whistle. The third place match winners last year maintains their ambition to go a step further will be looking for Hasnath Ubamba retaining her excellent form with dangerous runs adding to the potential goal threat for the Egyptian champions along with Alice Ogebe and the probing passes of Amira.
