Africa Women’s Football: Kukoma Ntopwa crowned champions, Rayon retain title, FC Masar move 5pts clear, Zesco within a win of championship glory. Bountou strikes 5 in Determine destruction of Stages Queens


Kúkoma Ntopwa were crowned champions of Malawi after a dramatic penalty shoot out defeating Silver Strikers. Kandowa Banda struck in the 15th minute before a exceptional strike from Ireen Khumalo in the 84th minute levelled the game for Silver Strikers. Ntopwa won a tense penalty shoot out 4-3 to clinch the title.

FC Masar open a 5pt advantage Mahira Ali strike the pick of the goals. Fatma Mohamed looping header opened scoring before Alice Ogebe rounded off a sweeping move placing the ball into a open goal from short distance. Kampala Queens defeated bottom club Wakiso Peace Muduwa, Catherine Nagadya and Zainah Nandede scoring the goals in a 3-0 win to maintain a 6pt advantage over defending title winners Kawempe Muslim who recorded a 3-1 win over Rines.


Northern Leaders Ampem were in devastating form as they cruised to a 6-0 win over Sung Shining Esther Owusu and Maybel Amoyaw both scoring two goals apeice. In the North section Hasaacas maintain top position with a 4pt advantage as they eased to a 3-0 win over Ladystrikers.


Champions Mamelodi overcame last season runner up UWC as Boitumelo Rabale struck the only goal of the game. Copperbelt defeated TUT 2-0 Hlulani Manganyi and Dineo Mfati striking the goals. Another shortened round ended with JVW earning a dramatic 2-2 draw with Fort Hare with a stoppage time equaliser.
