African Women’s Football Côte D’ivoire stun Senegal in thriller, Ampem edge Dreamz in Ghana Cup, Winifrida Gerald sparkles in GIFT tourney, Fatou Touré keeps Bambey top in Senegal.



CAF Women’s Under 17 WWC Qualifying

Cameroun controlled the game despite only adding one early goal to their first leg advantage Ntsongo Nkoussa striking from close range in the fourth minute. They face Ethiopia in the second round.

South Africa dominated a gallant under prepared Gabon Noella Ilembo Mbassi striking a excellent goal for the visitors highlighting the effort. However the host struck 9 to add to the 12 in the unfortunate events of the first leg. They now face a huge task in the next round when they play Nigeria

Sierra Leone advanced with a excellent 2-0 away victory over Centrafique, Amanita Kamara scored a penalty on the stroke of half time before Maseray Turay sealed the game. Sierra Leone is scheduled to play Guinea in the second round.

Algeria and Tunisia played out a tense goalless draw in which defence dominated, Tunisia coming close in stoppage time with a thunderous effort. Algeria advance 1-0 on aggregate to face Botswana.

Uganda proved once again too strong for Namibia adding a further 8 goals to the 10 of the first leg Joan Namulindwa 35 46 51 striking a hattrick. Uganda face rival Kenya in the next round a tricky prospect.

RD Congo eased past a determined Niger proving to strong, once again recording a 2-0 success. Grace Aïcha 15 and a well taken Esther Heshima effort sealed RD Congo passage to face Benin .

Côte D’ivoire stunned host Senegal with Akoua Déborah pouncing on a goalkeeper error minutes from time to level the game and take the tie on away goals. A thrilling contest saw Marie Louise Sarr score two excellent goals for Senegal the first of which a sublime chip over the advancing keeper by N’Guessan Adjoua quickly tied the game at 1-1.  In a frantic finale a thunder bolt shot struck the bar and bounced down on the goaline with no technology in play to decide if it had indeed crossed the line to Senegal’s frustration. Côte D’ivoire advanced to face Burundi.


Etincelles remain on top by a goal as they defeated Djelgodji 3-1.  Ghana striker Comfort Yeboah struck a hattrick as USFA dominated ESIZ 4-0. Douanes remains third edging ASECK 2-1



AS Bambey top the league in Senegal

Fatou Binetou Touré fired home a 36th minute winner as AS Bambey edged Casa 1-0 to remain top in Senegal.

Zesco Ndola edged towards the title despite being held by reigning champions Green Buffaloes 0-0. Red Arrows struck three second half goals to defeat Kamfinsa 3-0 remaining second on gd from Indeni who received a Walkover against Choma Warriors.


Flora Kameni struck in the third minute as Ebolowa defeated Louves 2-0, a unfortunate own goal sealing the victory in the 86th minute. Ukwinkunda Jeannette “Jiji”  came on as a substitute with devastating effect for leaders Rayon who defeated Kamonyi  2-0 with goals scored in the 86th and 90+4 minutes. Rayon hold a 9 point advantage over Indahangarwa who suffered a 1-0 loss to Police. Uwase Zawadi  scored twice, Mutuyemariya Florentine Kalaba  and Coralie Odette Nguema  scored the goals as AS Kigali defeated Bugesera 4-0.



Only two games took place at the weekend AR Guelma and FC Bejaia played out a goalless draw a result taking the latter off the bottom of the table in a tight relegation battle. CS Constantine and Oran Centre drew 2-2.  Leaders CF Akbou game at ASE Bejaia was abandoned due to a flooded pitch.


Two goals in four minutes gave Ampem Darkoa a 2-1 win over Dreamz in the tie of the round. Mary Amponsah struck in the 24th minute quickly followed by a Gnabekan N Yanyimaya 28th minute effort. Gifty Azuma reduced the defecit but the Northern leaders held out to advance. Alamisi Atampaga scored the winner as Faith Ladies defeated Soccer 1-0. Hasaacas cruised against lower league opponents Blacoe. Northern Ladies overcame Savannah on penalties following a 1-1 draw.



FC MASAR GO 3PTS CLEAR

FC Masar go 3pts clear of Al Alhy at the top (39pts) in a hard fought controversial contest. Mahira Ali struck early before a powerful Slimzy header levelled the game. Ali then added her second to regain the lead for Fc Masar with a excellent individual effort. Sandrine Niyonkuru pounced on the stroke of half time to make the score 3-1. Zamalek continued to give FC Masar a tough outing the champions needing to be on top form. A controversial goal awarded to Hala Abdel Sammad who headed in a corner which Zamalek claimed did not enter the goal lead to a 13 minute delay as they left the field in protest. Upon return no further scoring was added.


Leaders ASEC were in destructive form as they crushed Teco 7-0 Ouedraogo Habibou and Tra Lou Minouzan both scoring doubles.

Mariama Sambu was again in dominant form scoring 5 goals for leaders Ram K who defeated Malema Queens 7-3. Salamatu Kamara added a double.

Defending champions Mogbewmo Queens eased to a 3-0 win over Mena Queens, Gambian Sally Jatta was in top form striking a brace in the 1st and 13th minute. Wuya Mohai completed the scoring.


Mariama Sambu who scored 5 goals at the weekend, préviously scoring 4 against Kahunla and 3 against Vem Buck in devastating form for leaders Ram Kamara.


Defending champions Kenya Police Bullets move to the top of the table in Kenya despite a goalless draw against Kisumu in the only game of the weekend.

A 90th-minute header from Silvina Co and a late strike from Jarra Jambang sealed the victory as TMT Ladies secured a dramatic 3-1 win over Future Bi to maintain their unbeaten streak.

After a lot of frustration in Togo the Women’s Championship finally continued with the opening matches of the play offs. ASKO defeated Entente 2-0 Akedemi Paulina Akintan and a late goal from Tatiana Kayaba sealed the victory. Patience Olateju Harrison 74th Minute effort was the decisive goal in a narrow 1-0 win for Koroki over Ahe.

JKT Queens were crowned champions of the pilot CAF u17 Girls integrated Club Tournament, lead by Tanzania starlet Winifrida Gerald who scored two goals in four minutes to overcome TDS Girls who had taken a 1-0 advantage at the interval courtesy of Winifrida Mathias.
