African Women’s Championships : HST hold ASFAR, Amus foil Kawempe, Mamelodi celebrate 5 in a row, Akbou super cup champion


Nchanga continua impress as Ivy Nambeye continues her excellent scoring form bagging a brace as they dominate Nkana Queens 4-0. Early goals from Blessing Chisenga and Grace Phiri paved the way for Play It Forward as they beat Luyando 2-1.


HST produced a valiant display to hold ASFAR to a goalless draw, frustrating the champions whose late upsurge in tempo proved to be of no avail.  SCC remains 100% as they defeated ITFF 2-0, RSB also open with 5 successive wins with a 13-0 win over struggling SCCM.

Mamelodi sealed a 5th successive championship dominating TUT from the outset on their way to a 5-0 victory to spark champagne celebrations.  Sundowns now head to Morroco to defend their CAF Women’s Champions League title.

Leaders Rayon Sports thrashed Muhazi 7-0 as they continue their dominant opening to the league season. Perennial foe AS Kigali fell to Indahangarwa and already face a 10 pt defecit.


Amus College impressive early season form saw them hold champions Kawempe Muslim to a 1-1 draw a unfortunate late Amiya Jazira own goal foiling a excellent victory.  Amus face Kampala in the next round who defeated Rines 2-0 with goals from Sumayah Nalumu and Zainah Nandede. Kampala also announced Asefa Firew Hailegebreal as the new Head Coach on a two-year  deal.

Asefa, a former Ethiopia Women National Football Teams head coach takes over the new role from Ayiekoh Lukula Charles who left the club last week.

Deborah Afriyie 55th minute goal earned Police a 1-0 win over reigning champions Hasaacas. Dreamz continue to impress Yaa Abrifi firing home a 80th minute winner. Victoria Banful earned Ampem a narrow win at Kusami.


CF Akbou won the Super Cup, Ikram Bahri scoring the decisive goal in the 86th minute to defeat JF Khroub. In league action Affak Relizane opened their season with a 3-2 win over Alger Centre.


Vihiga Queens moved to the top of the table Diana Cherono Sigei scoring the winner against Bungoma.  Wadadia earned their first points overcoming Bunyore who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.  Champion Police Bullets face Kibera on Wednesday Nov 6.


ASEC trounced Koria 8-0 to lead the way in Côte D’ivoire. N’Guessan Nadege leading the scoring with a hattrick.  Sekala also strolled to a 5-1 win over African Sport.  Champions Inter D’Abidjan did not play.


In Togo only one game was played as Ahe defeated Winners Girls 3-0, Alice Ogbor scoring a hattrick.   The remaining teams sat out the round in a ongoing dispute over unpaid funds from the government.


Miatta Morris was the star of the weekend scoring four as Shaita defeated Ambassadors 5-0.
