African Women’s Championships. Zesco Ndola march on, JKT take the Community Shield in dramatic style, Kawempe Muslim start 100%


Zesco Ndola continue another great start to the season as they dispatched Nkana Queens 5-0.  Namasiku Lungowe scored a additional time winner as ZISD moved into second spot, Indeni Roses being held by Zanaco who are finding better form as the season progresses. Green Buffaloes have been out of action due to military training.


JKT Queens won the Community Shield Donisia Minja struck a stunning last gasp free kick to claim the trophy  as the match seemed to be heading to penalties.

Second Round action saw Champions Kawempe Muslim improve to six points, Agnes Nabukenya adding to her opening round hattrick to lead the early goal scoring chart with 4 goals.  Vice Champions Kampala notched their first win of the season Shamirah Nalugya scoring the only goal as they defeated She Corporate 1-0.


Lesotho champions LDF Ladies opened the season with a 15-0 demolition of Thabatseka. Molefe Phuzile firing home six goals in the rout. Contenders Kick 4 Life downed Stoko 6-0 while LMPS defeated Bantu 4-0


With ASKO on a bye week Foadan failed to cut into the lead being held by Tambo 2-2. In Group A leaders Entente where held to a 1-1 draw by OTR


In round 2 Action Berkane scored a impressive win defeating ARAFF 5-0, Salamatu Diarra leading the way with a brace. Champions ASFAR defeated RCAZ 3-0 Zineb Redouani scoring twice to be joint top scorer in the league after two rounds with 3. WAC defeated SCCM 10-0 in unfortunate circumstances as the game was abandoned at 70 minutes with the visitors only having 6 players remaining having travelled with only 12 players a substitute goalkeeper only on the bench. HST and Phoenix battled out a 1-1 draw, SCC beat CSST 2-0 with similar scoreline victories for AMLFF and FUS.


With leaders Mamelodi out of action UWC won one of 3 games in hand as they defeated Richmond 2-1, Sibulele Holweni scoring a 90th minute winner. Marizka Adams gave Richmond a 15th minute lead before Fikele Magama equalised in the 36th minute.  UJ remain third with a 3-0 victory over bottom side Thunderbirds.   Lindelani escape attempt continues as they defeated Durban 1-0 Mandisa Faya scoring the winner in the 9th minute.


Kenya’s Women’s Super League season opened at the weekend with champions Kenya Police Bullets continuing where they left off, as they ran out 3-0 winners over Kisped, Becky Okwaro scoring twice and Lydia Akoth finding the target. Newcomers Mombasa and Trinity recorded impressive wins respectively,  Vihiga Queens edged out Ulinzi 1-0


Another impressive weekend for Africans abroad.  Temwa Chawinga headlining equalling the NWSL single season goal scoring record moving onto 18 goals.  Brenda Tabe was celebrating a title in Ireland her goals in the title run in proved crucial leading Athlone Town to Championship glory. Daniela Meriva impressive start to the season for Famalicão continued once again finding the net the highly talented youngster quickly making her name in Portugal.    Rasheedat Ajibade was rewarded for her excellent start to the season in Liga F being named player of the month for September.  Lily Niber-Lawrence and Alvine Ngonja assisted Sevinch to a emphatic 10-1 win in the Uzbekistan Women’s Cup Semi Final over So’g’diyona.  While Kenya’s Tereza Engesha scrambled last gasp equaliser earned Red Angels a 2-2 draw against Abu Dhabi Country in the AFC Women’s Champions League Group stage her second of the match. Tanzania’s Lyudmila Enekia double helped Mazatlan to a 2-1 win over Pumas, Enekia in very good personal form with impressive performances in Liga Mx Femenil 🇲🇽.
