India overcome Hong Kong to set up title decider v Kosovo

India  2-0 Hong Kong
Anju Tamang 18′
Soumya Guguloth 79′

The second game of the day saw India overcome Hong Kong to set up a deciding contest against Kosovo. Both teams will enter the game on 6pts.

A well played first half saw India probe the Hong Kong defence who stood firm until a error saw Anju Tamang take advantage to score the opening goal on 18 minutes from the six yard line.  The game continued with India pressing mostly and foiling Hong Kong attacks to end the first half with a 1-0 advantage.

India continued to press after the interval but found little space to create a open opportunity being restricted to a distant shot that sailed wide from Indumathi Kathiresan on 51 minutes.

Anju Tamang was thwarted on 65 minutes excellent keeping from Cheuk Wi her low shot being well smothered.

On 79 minutes Soumya Guguloth doubled the lead taking advantage of a miskick from the Hong Kong keeper to place the ball into a empty net for a 2-0 lead.

India could not muster a third goal that would have taken them to the top of the standings entering the final game and Hong Kong came very close to reducing the deficit when Sharon Fung’s effort went narrowly wide on the 90th minute.
