Fifa will announce the host of the 2027 Fifa Women’s World Cup on May 17 2024
Countries interested in hosting the competition have until May 19 of this year to submit their projects to FIFA. Applications need to be confirmed by December 8 of this year.
Confirmed bids of a joint Belgium -Netherlands – Germany . Others interested include South Africa whose government expressed support but await a final decision .
In January the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa sent a letter to SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan saying the department is proud to support the Association’s expression of interest to bid to host the global showpiece.
“At this stage of the process, this letter does not in any way mean, or cannot be considered an underwriting, guarantee, or financial commitment by the Department of sport, arts and culture or any other Government department in the Republic of South Africa,” the letter said.
